David Banner Talks Blog Sites & New Mixtape

One of the biggest problems of many hiphop blogs now-a-days is the misrepresentation and misinterpretation of a lot of news in the rap and urban hiphop community. With hundreds of sites out there and thousands of loyal followers, it is easy to convince people to think a certain way and this is a major problem because it fuels wars and beef that should not even exist. In this video, David Bannersits down with on the Sway In The Morning Show at Shade 45 and talks the current internet situation and how some blogs take advantage of the rap game.

We have always had a huge respect for David Banner and are huge fans of his music so be on the lookout for David Banner‘s new mixtape, Sex, Drugs and Video Games coming out end of January 2012 featuring Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, ASAP Rocky, Don Trip, 2 Chainz and many more.

J. Cole Passed On “My Last” And “Tears Of Joy” By No I.D.

no-id
If you watched J. Cole’s story from the sidelines, you might recall how Jermaine made mention of being in the studio with No I.D. at the early stages of his first LP, who ended up being one of the only producers besides J. Cole on the debut album. In speaking with Complex, Kanye’s mentor details how two of his biggest records were actually intended for the little nigga from the Ville. If you ask me, it adds to Cole’s legend that he passed on seemed like a golden opportunity with those sure fire bangers and still went gold.
the origins of “My Last
No I.D.: “That record was actually made for J. Cole during one of his sessions. I told Cole it was going to be a single and he said ‘Nah, I don’t know about that one.’ So I passed it for Sean while he was working on his album, and told him this would be the one, and he said ‘I don’t know about that.’ He thought it sounded too commercial or whatever.
“I told him we needed someone to get on the chorus—maybe get Drake or Kanye on the chorus. But then Sean had a relationship with Chris Brown, and once Chris got on it I knew it was gone. Sean always tells the story about how he fronted on the record, but then when he’s performing the record in front of thousands of people with their hands up in the air, he says ‘Damn, No I.D. was really right about this one.’ [Laughs.]
The origins of “Tears Of Joy
Editor’s Note: This actually ended up being J. Cole – No Holding Me Back
No I.D.: “The funny thing about that beat, is that one was made for J. Cole. J. Cole is a producer, and a lot of what I was doing for him wasn’t just giving him beats—I was helping him. When you’re O.G. status you’ve gotta give back, so I was guiding Cole and helping him do his thing. So I didn’t really sweat him passing on all of these records because I knew they’d find a good home.

PRINT: JACKIE Magazine Retracts Apology To Rihanna

jackie-magazine-sept-2011-530x729
We thought the worst was over but apparently not. The owner of Dutch based publication, JACKIE has done an about face in response to Rihanna’s outrage for the article printed about her in their latest issue. This statement was issued by Yves Gijrath:
“[T]here is nothing wrong in the magazine. [Hoeke] presented it as a joke, but it most certainly was not a joke. It was an interpretation [of a fashion style]. [...] She should have said: “we did not realize this interpretation is such a touchy subject. We never meant any harm and offer our sincere and upright apologies.” But because of all the fuss, Eva started to wiggle in all directions, and therefore we have come to the conclusion her credibility has been undermined.”
“We will not be silenced. People are totally off limits when calling both the magazine Jackie, and Eva Hoeke racist. Jackie is even produced by an editorial staff that is of mixed origins.”
